What's in a breath?
Did you know we can control our nervous system through our breath? By slowing and deepening our breath we switch over to our parasympathetic nervous system, our "rest and digest" system. In our hectic world we often find it hard to switch off and calm ourselves, but simply by making our breaths longer and deeper, we can feel instantly more relaxed. Our bodies and our minds need this down time to recharge, so when we are "on" again we can operate at our best.
Try counting in for 4, holding your breath for 2, and out again for 4. Repeat this cycle 10 times and let me know how it feels!
